Psalm 40

From God To Me      From Me To God

1  waited patiently for ; and to and heard cry.

2  brought up also out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set feet upon a rock, and established goings.

3 And have put a new song in mouth, even praise to , God; many will see it, and fear, and will trust in .

4 Blessed who make trust and do not respect the proud nor those who turn aside to lies.

5 Many are wonderful works which , Lord God, have done; and thoughts toward : they cannot be recounted in order to ; if would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered.

6 Sacrifice and offering did not desire; have opened ears; burnt offering and sin offering have not required.

7 Come; in the volume of book it is written about , that

8  God. Delight to do will; yes, law be within heart.

9  have preached righteousness in the great congregation; behold, have not refrained lips, as know.

10  have not hidden righteousness within heart; have declared faithfulness and salvation; have not concealed loving kindness and truth from the great congregation.

11 Do not withhold tender mercies from ; loving kindness and truth continually preserve .

12 For innumerable evils have surrounded ; iniquities have taken hold of , so that not able to look up; they are more than the hairs of head; therefore heart fails .

13 be pleased to deliver ; Oh, come quickly to help .

14 let them be ashamed and confounded together who seek after soul to destroy it; let them be driven backward and put to shame who wish evil.

15 let them be desolate because of their shame who say to , “Aha! Aha!”

16  who seek rejoice and be glad in ! who love salvation say continually, “ Lord, be !”

17 But poor and needy; yet think of ; help and deliverer; I, God, not delay.
